Overview

Mandarin is the third generation of potential market analysis services from mtmconsulting. It is the product of 15 years’ constant research and development, driven by our experienced and innovative research department. It tells you where your best markets are now, what they are like now and what they will be like in five years time.

Mandarin is based on the highest quality and most up to date data available. Mandarin uses the ACORN geo-demographic classification system alongside the PayCheck household income tool.

In using ACORN and PayCheck data, Mandarin provides a unique interpretation specifically tailored for your school. Bespoke analytical software is used along with extensive database manipulation to express our research in the most useable formats. Tables and charts, supported by the ‘InSite’ market analysis and mapping tool, allow you to interpret easily the wealth of data that is provided.

Why ACORN?

Developed over 25 years ago, ACORN was the first geo-demographic classification system introduced to the UK. Since then, it  has constantly been improved and refined with many new innovative targeting techniques being introduced along the way. It has maintained ACORN’s reputation as the country’s most respected and reliable consumer classification tool.

The ACORN classification system is built from over 400 individual variables that each describe how people live and act. Of these variables 30% are sourced from the Census. The remaining 70% are derived from consumer lifestyle databases, which cover all of the UK’s 46 million adults and 23 million households.

Why PayCheck?

PayCheck profiles the average net income for all 1.6 million postcodes in the UK, using information on over 4 million households in conjunction with Census and market research data to increase statistical reliability.
